Manuel Pecina was born on a farm between Rockwall and Fate, Texas. He is a Navy Veteran and has received a Navy Expeditionary Medal, a Sea Service Ribbon and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. Manuel went on to school and received his BFA from The University of Texas at Arlington and his MFA from The University of Texas at Dallas. Manuel has always nourished his creative identity in Film & Digital Photography, Glass, Alternative Photography Processes, and Encaustic. In 2013 he entered a new endeavor as an Itinerant Curator promoting under-represented artists to the community. Manuel fashions himself as an uncomplicated person and he hopes to discard affectations and pretensions. For as we age and feel the weight of mortality we know that all must come to pass but not before we leave a beautiful memory.
