Being influenced by Susan Kae Grant, my book making history began in early 2006. There is no better way to share moments of your life than talking to people, and telling stories of how you have lived. I have thought about how to incorporate it into my art, but it always relates more to Francis Bacon’s work, so I used nature to soften the story. Bacon’s work has a dark side (we all can relate to this murkiness & inequity) I did my best to shield my son from that trauma, because I was afraid of becoming my father and yet knowing that life can be horrible, but also very special.
